Restricted Access to Waterden Church during Restoration Work
Work is starting on the major restoration and improvement works to All Saints' Waterden.
On 2 December 2018 contractors will arrive on site to build the new car park near Waterden Lane. This work will be completed in time for the 2018 Service of Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve but between now and then there will be no access to the church from the normal entrance off the lane. Alternative access can be found by approaching the west end of the church from the public footpath that runs north off the lane just down the hill past the Old Rectory.
The works to the church itself start on 2 January 2019 and the church will then be totally closed to visitors until summer 2019. We apologize for this but there is no alternative to complete closure. We will post again once we know the precise re-opening date.
The church is 100 yards off Waterden Lane down a grass track partly hidden by trees. It can be accessed either from the B1105 Fakenham - Wells road or from the B1355 Fakenham - Burnham Market road. Parking is on verge in the lane. The Old Rectory is easily visible from the lane so, if you can see that, you are close.
