Ministries Fair 2016

The East Anglia Ministries Fair is coming to Norwich Cathedral on Saturday 13 May.

Our aim is to inspire people with new possibilities for mission and service, in the Church and the wider community. The Ministries Fair comes on the back of Vocation Sunday on 7 May and is a great way to get people talking about vocation and the many ways God calls us – whether as part of a team for a few hours a month, or as our job and life’s work.

The Ministries Fair will fill the Cathedral with stands representing community projects, church ministries, mission organisations, local and national charities. We’ll also have a performance stream in the North Transept featuring musicians and artists who’ll perform their work and speak about art as a vocation. There’ll be workshops, demonstrations and presentations from various exhibitors throughout the day.

The Ministries Fair will be launched by the Dean at 10.30am, and will be open all day – with Refectory refreshments in the South Transept – until Evensong at 3.30pm.

SPPN is made up of locations around the country where people can find peace and quiet in spiritual and prayerful surroundings. Looking at the attributes that SPPN seek in their members, you can see why Waterden is such a good fit.

Small Pilgrim Places are:

  • Spaces for pondering, breathing, meditating, praying and ‘being’;
  • Small places, not those already on the map, well-known, or that draw crowds;
  • Simple, quiet and unpretentious, with the presence of the Divine;
  • Places of worship, gardens, ruins, open spaces, holy wells, etc.;
  • Welcoming and inclusive.

The Church of Our Lady Saint Mary is delighted to have become a member of Inclusive Church.

Inclusive Church is a group of Christians uniting together around this statement of belief: "We believe in inclusive Church - church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ."
